报告内容简介:
Topological defects (TDs) have been captivating for decades in the field of both condensed matter physics and cosmology, arising from the intricate interplay between robust symmetry breaking of the order parameter and topology. These defects have been discovered in many condensed matter systems, and they play an important role in lattice formation, phase transitions and novel electronic properties. Moreover, charge density wave (CDW) state is another intriguing phenomenon that has been extensively studied in condensed matter physics, which makes TDs in CDW systems even more interesting. In this representation, I will first briefly introduce the background of topological defects and charge density waves. Then I will show several recent studies about TDs in CDW systems. Finally, I will briefly report my research on a CDW crystal who has TDs in it.
